MIS XV AÑOS
Let us create your Quinceañera portrait

In some Hispanic Cultures there is a tradition among many Mexican
American families that, when a girl reaches the age of 15, she is honored
with a "Quinceañera". This dates back to the Jewish custom of presenting
the young lady to the Church.

The ceremony symbolizes the responsibility of the young lady at this time
of her life. The way this custom is understood by most people is the
presentation of the lady to society. Catholics celebrate this custom with
special emphasis on the awareness and sensitivity of the young lady in the
dealing with the values, concerns, and challenges of the Christian faith.
The Quinceañera celebration is not a sacrament, but the sacraments of
Penance and Eucharist may very well be integral parts of the celebration.
The event may be celebrated in the most simple form possible to avoid
creating class distinction on how it is celebrated.

The Ring symbolizes the tie and the responsibility the young lady has to
God and to her community.

The Metal symbolizes the religious expression of Faith. The young lady
is placed under the protection of the person represented by the image on
the medal.

The Crown symbolizes the victory the young lady has won in trying to live
a Christian life in the midst of all the problems and the challenges of her
environment.

The Flowers symbolizes the renew ness of the commitment and the
responsibility to the community
